The first task that takes place during the cement manufacturing process is mining limestone. Take note that the limestone is crushed to 80 mm in size and excavated from open cast mines. Then it is taken out diagonally for the grinding purpose in raw mill hoppers. Upon receiving raw material from mines, limestone gets transferred to the raw mill to turn into a fine powder through the grinding process.
Clinkerization is the process of heating the fine powder of limestone at 1450 degrees centigrade, as mentioned earlier. Then the produced clinker material is kept in an electrostatic precipitator to store it as a concrete silo. Then the pyro processing of kiln feed starts to produce cement clinkers. After that, these hot clinkers are cooled down for storage, and then gypsum and clinker are mixed for further grinding into a fine grey powder. Now, this fine grey powder is the cement that gets packed and sold in the market.
